Description
I took some photos of the Swiss Alps...
The sky was cold, with some beautiful Lenticularis clouds.
Alps from Frutigen:
From the low horn on which is in the light haze Frutigental and the Bernese Alps to the southwest, to the Mont Blanc.
The Alps span some 200 kilometers ( 125 miles) , at at average altitude of 1700 m ( 5576 ft) , and cover nearly two Thirds of Switzerland 's total surface area . The snow line begins at 2.500 to 2.800 meters ( 8.200 to 9186 feet) . There are 48 mountains Which are 4.000 meters ( 13.120 feet) or higher and about 1,800 glaciers .
The highest mountain in Switzerland is the Dufour Peak in Canton Valais , at 4634 m ( 15.203 ft). They Provide a continental watershed, deterministic mining the climate and vegetation. But while they contribute enormously to the Swiss identity, economic activity is concentrated in the plateau.
The valleys of several major rivers - the Rhone, Upper Rhine , the Reuss and Ticino - divide the mountain ranges.

Another very nice view of the Alps, Felicia. Voted (All Seasons Landscapes group, round 10).

Felicia, you might even consider shooting far more of these beautiful Swiss Alps images when conditions are favorable. We barely have hills in Texas (in some places) and much of Texas is flat. It's a treat to see topography!.

Felicia, I've enjoyed looking through all your images of the Swiss Alps. This one is among my favorites. Lovely colors, and one can almost feel the cold air! v

Thank you very much, Connie! I was also very impressed always from these beautiful mountains! It is the first time when I make the Alps study! I have more of them. I wanted to catch different perspective, giving different moods. I am glad you like it!
