Reaching the dream - acrylic painting (80 cm x 57 cm x 0.8 cm)
The Alps span some 200 kilometers ( 125 miles) , at at average altitude of 1700 m ( 5576 ft) , and cover nearly two Thirds of Switzerland 's total surface area . The snow line begins at 2.500 to 2.800 meters ( 8.200 to 9186 feet) . There are 48 mountains which are 4.000 meters ( 13.120 feet) or higher and about 1,800 glaciers .
The Alps are to be seen here over the lake Thun. Lake Thun is an Alpine lake in the Bernese Oberland at the northern edge of the Alps. The lake is 17.5 km long and max. 3.5 km wide. Its area is 47.69 square km, being the largest lake found just in one Canton of Switzerland. (Wikipedia)
