Description
The snow rose is due to its early flowering and its showy white flowers in the 16th Century to find in Central European gardens. Conrad Gesner described a 1561 pink form. The early introduction is attributed to the fact that this plant has been used in herbal medicine. Especially in the 19th Century emerged cultivars which had larger flowers and a more abundant blooms approach than the wild species. Colorful varieties created by cross-breeding of native to Turkey Oriental hellebore.
