I took this photo in a town named Kirchberg.
Kirchberg got its name from the standing on the rocky hill, visible from miles around church. The first church building dates back to the 7/8 Century.
This is an old house, with the vintage iron work on the left side of this door. It is an old door with a special pattern on the front side.
The days of placing cast iron scraper in front of every door is over, people still find this metal piece appealing and love to install it as a sign of vintage collection.
After having been a prized possession by antique dealers, cherished by history buffs, and still an object of mystery to many a 21st century pedestrian, the humble boot-scraper is now back in the spotlight not only in its favored home, Belgium, but beyond European continent as well.
It became hugely popular in the Victorian era and was soon found in parts of America as well. By 19th century, almost every house was featuring one such item in its premises.
I am happy to paint and to use my camera, observing and immortalizing the beauty of the nature in the place I live or I see during our trips. I hope you enjoy my work! Thank you for the interest!
